In 2022, four women were traveling in a vehicle along Sargent Drive in New Haven, Connecticut. They were not participating in a race.

According to the finalized case materials, two drivers were engaged in an illegal high-speed street race when their vehicles collided with the victims’ vehicle.

The crash resulted in a death and caused severe, life-altering injuries to the occupants. The incident and the lawsuit later received coverage from FOX 61 News Connecticut.
